Level 1 ‘Introduction to Forest School’ is the perfect course for practitioners interested in starting their outdoor learning journey. It provides learners with an introduction to skills and knowledge required for learning in the outdoors and an understanding of the Forest School ethos.
The qualification aims to encourage personal growth and engagement, while meeting career aspiration and development. The course meets objectives outlined in the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto, 2006 setting out a vision to enable every young person to experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of their learning and personal development.

We consider the differences between forest school and outdoor learning, valuing the benefits of a range of approaches while focussing on the unique and inspirational ethos set out in the FSA‘s Forest School principles.
