Forest School Programme Support Award
Level 2 training qualifies a learner to become a Forest School Assistant, enabling them to take a proactive role in helping the Forest School Leader plan and deliver the Forest School programme and support learners.
If you are interested in running Forest School activities with early years, primary or secondary children this course is the perfect place to start. Successful completion of the Level 2 course allows learners to move directly onto Part 2 of the Level 3 course.
Course content includes: the woodland environment, fire and tool use with young people, risk and safety, the forest school ethos, learning through play, holistic development, planning and evaluation of forest school activities.
You will learn a wide range of practical skills alongside theory and ethos to support your practice. These will include the safe use of tools, basic construction of structures, basic knots and lashings, types and construction of fires, creative use of natural materials and conservation issues.

Entry criteria for Level 2:
Be over 18 years old.
Enjoy working outside.
Have experience in working with children.

The course
:
Four days taught sessions in the Dragonfly Wood
Placement experience with additional self study.
Submission of your evidence portfolio (six months after course start date).
Cost: £400 (this includes registration and certification fee for the level 2 qualification through NOCN)
All courses are available as practice skills days at £75 per day, with no additional self-study, evidence requirement or accreditation.

Progression:

Level 3 Award in Forest School Programme Leadership

 Please note that completion of the Level 2 course at the Dragonfly Wood reduces the cost of the Level 3 course.
